Venezuela's official death toll from the 24 June twin earthquakes has risen to 3,535, with almost 18,000 people displaced and a large international relief effort under way in and around Caracas.
A rare seismic 'doublet' in northern Venezuela has killed at least 3,535 people and left close to 50,000 unaccounted for, triggering one of the region's largest international relief efforts.
At least 2,954 people have died in the earthquake doublet that struck northern Venezuela on 24 June, one of the deadliest natural disasters in the country's history. Eleven days on, roughly 50,000 remain unaccounted for and the operation is turning from saving lives to recovering bodies.
